Our Mission

Star Central Studios Learning Center is 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and enriching the community for filmmakers in West Texas and beyond. Our mission is to support local artists to produce their content in El Paso, by providing them the tools and resources necessary to give voice and visibility to their bodies of work. With the help of grants, generous donors, and local city government, we are working to enrich and grow the film community. We work to serve both students and professionals by connecting them with top level equipment, tools, and teachings. Our center is aimed at introducing vibrant and vital voices of diversity in all genres of film.

For decades, the film community in El Paso, Texas has been underserved with resources for motion pictures and film. Now, under the direction of Gilbert Jorgenson and Ricardo Herrera, filmmakers and independent artists have access to the same cameras, lenses, and gear seen on major motion picture sets. With these resources serving the needs of the film industry, El Paso can retain the same talent to share their stories of the Borderland and beyond.

Making it Happen in the Borderland.

Stories from the people of El Paso, Juarez, Las Cruces, and the surrounding Southwest deserve to be told. Star Central Studios Learning Center is proud to advocate for the men and women who believe in creating visual art told through their lens.

If you want to keep our talent here, and if we want those creative people to tell our stories, then they need to have the resources to do that.
— Gilbert Jorgenson
Companies like this are going to make sure that we are ready to meet those opportunities with total preparation. This is going to be an enormous boom to our city artistically, economically, and culturally.
